If it is the TCT (the cam chain auto-tensioner near the top) then it is super easy to replace, I did mine in about ten minutes, so I dont see where they could comeup with a 900 dollar estimate, unless they are saying it is the other tensioner. What did billman say, is it most likely the camchain tensioner that is accessible from the outside?

LOLOLOL comedy, but then why would they fit you with the whole 900 dollar bill if it wasnt the cause and you just wanted them to replace the tensioner regardless. They say they want to do a partial teardown to make sure its the TCT, yet leave an "out" to say that if it is the guides then the 900 dollar bill is on you, a part that you wanted to replace regardless of teardown etc, insane. Throwing a $135 part that takes ten minutes to replace (a part that is known to go out anyways) can be chalked up to basic maintenance, even if it isnt the cause. Thats why its better to take matters into your own hands sometimes, especially when you have access to a place like this.
