i cut my rear because of the stupid offset(38), rolling alone will not do it for me. no rust or anything after 2+ years, no welding require unless you cut the whole thing off all the way.
btw did you have your coilover set up right? at that height you need to preload the spring even with a shortened CO body, running it without preload with such soft rate will yield alot of travel, thus rub the sh0t out of it and possibly ride the BS

what did you come into contact with first? the quarter panel or the bumper tab OR bumper? i would have never posted but i am reading contradictory statements everywhere.

like everyone else, the first thing you rub is the bumper tab, even if you roll the fender, you still need to trim the tab, it's just in the way(wider tire + lowered S)
good luck on your fender, better get it done now than later!

The reason you don't cut is because your rear quarter panel has spot welds where you cut so if you cut there's a chance those two pieces of metal can come apart.
I learned this the hard way on my E46
