I don't Think so cause I purchased S2000's and it has procedures for disassembling the Countershaft and has a break down of all the parts that make it up. Do you want me to post a picture of the parts explosion so you can take a look at it and see what you see?

Yea, post it. My oem honda book shows that gear as part of the shaft.

I think my best bet is to disassemble the mainshaft and countershaft and watch what they are when they come off if at all

Looks like your manual picture shows it as part of the shaft (as does my manual).
