how do you figure?? A leakdown test will give you the amount of leakage in a cylinder. You can tell where the leak is coming from by listening to the intake manifold, or exhaust manifold, or crankcase for airflow. Since a leakdown test is conducted with the cylinder in topdead center on the compression stroke, theoretically there should be limited to no leakage. If you have leakage in the intake or exhaust, it is caused by leakage past the valves (bent or burnt valves). If you have air coming out of the crankcase, then you have piston/ring leakage. A leakdown test WILL tell you if it is your top end or bottom end causing loss of compression.
But what do I know, I only do this stuff for a living.

is it possible to determine damage on piston/piston ring vs cylinder wall? how many valves are bent. i think u know what i mean....

[QUOTE=NFRS2kSi,Dec 3 2006, 10:49 PM] ,but what i meant to say is that it doesn't give exact location of the damage.

and to the OP, becareful when you putting off the head, there's a washer that you need to catch or it will drop straight under.

[QUOTE=chairmnofthboard,Dec 3 2006, 04:18 PM] I've never seen a used F20C for $2000. The cheapest I've seen them is about $3000. And there not that easy to just "pop in"
If your head is good you should just rebuild it.
Seems like

BC
And that's a rare occurance, but then again he want's $2000 for the trans which is a bit high.
So I guess if you want to wait and hope to find one for $2000 like BC said you can, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it. Who does the swap for $600? Ben?
