Help with buying GPS for the S2K
Hi,
Can I please get some opinions who which gps to buy? Pros and Cons would help a lot also. Budget wise is about $500 - $1,000. Something thin, light, big touch screen, and removable when not in used or in a safe neighborhood. Oh and also maybe has a feature to say turn left here, approaching destination, and stuff like that. Thanks guys!!

I have the Garmin Street Pilot and although it's not (thin), I think it's one of the best available. It's incredibly accurate has downloadable updates from the Garmin website and any and all information you could ever want. And yes, it does tell you when to turn
Whichever one you choose, make sure that it can be updated...some can't.

I have heard great things about the Tom Tom. My dad uses one in London and loves it. Seen a couple of installs in s2k's and it can be placed above the volume control to the left of the steering wheel and is small enough to put there.
Check it out, def. worth a look.

I posted the following about the Garmin Nuvi in another thread a few days ago!
And, Bob is right. Updating is very important. Garmin also seems to lead the industry.
I can give the Nuvi 4 thumbs up!!! ...yes, four!!!
This thing is amazing!!!
On a trip last month, I was able to find my way to a villa in Tuscany, Italy at 11pm through tiny towns, lots of round abouts, through a vineyard and on dirt roads!!! ...We're talking 30 minutes to the nearest highway!
Nobody could believe it!!! I was told not to go if it was going to be after dark!!!
Hehehe! ...don't tell me I can't do something!!!
Anyway, another great feature of the Nuvi is the fact that you can easily keep it in your pocket and use it to navigate on foot! Again, it was very easy to find my way around big cities and small towns alike while traveling through Europe! It made finding restaurants, landmarks even the leaning tower of Pisa really easy!
It also plays mp3's, audio books, has a picture viewer, and translates many languages!
In case you couldn't tell, I'm pretty happy with my Nuvi!!!

i use tomtom on my palm phone, works great.
i had the magellan, i liked that too, but it was too damn big.
the nuvi is next on my list. i would try that out if i were you cus it is only the size of a deck of cards and has all kinds of features its bigger brothers don't have.
