After work, I was making a sharp right turn on Chapman and The City Drive in Orange going about 30mph. I Downshift the car to 2nd gear then suddenly my ABS locks up rear brake. I press on the gas... I'm starting to spining out as if i'm doing a donut. finally it came into stop. I was losted for few second. I look to my left, I see a curve a feet away from hitting the left side and the vehicle is now facing opposite direction. people were looking at me like "WTF, just happened" I was so embarrass.. I took off as fast as I could

how did u make that turn"? didn u heel and toe? cuz i don't see how u'll end up facing opposite direction if u were heel and toeing for that turn... should be nice and smooth...

I have no idea... my mind was "blank" w/ it started to spin...
it's funny.. I didn't even hear tire screeking when it began to spin.

whenever you're near that area.. take a look @ the road.. there is my rear tire mark.

You downshifted enough to lock the rear wheels. Engine braking + pedal is enough to lock the rears. A rough heel and toe would do it too.

Engine braking force is determined by gear and engine speed. On the streets you shouldn't have to use anything but 3rd and 4th to slow yourself down gently, and keep it out of VTEC. You won't have to worry about too much braking in the rear.

If you're braking hard and downshifting into 2nd in VTEC, you will have chirped the tires; done it on the AP2, clutch delay and all. There's never been a need to engine brake in 1st for me.

Two words for some of you people - SPELL CHECK.

GRAMMER CHECK would be helpful as well.
