Sadly technology is taking driving more and more from the driver's hands. But driving skills still trumps any mod short of boosting. Also the GT-R was aiming at the Porsche 911 Turbo, not the ZR1, I'm sure if they did match it up with the vette they would have gone a completely different route (which technically doesn't make sense since the history of the GT-R is like comparing apples and oranges to a vette).

I still don't see the comparison between a GTR and a ZR-1 in terms of the price. IMO, the $80k plus GT-R is not a worthy opponent. This is expecially true when it's expected that more money will more than likely equal better performance on a certain at the "supercar" level. When one thinks of a Corvette w/ a 6 figure price tag, of course it would be considered formidable.
Let's wait for the ZR-1 vs. GTR V-spec comparison or the ZR-1 vs. Viper ACR comparison.

Compare it to the Z06 then even.
Both 500hp except the Z06 weighs under 3300 and the GTR weighs under 4000.
Plus the ridiculous markup on the GTR is just insane.
V-spec is going to be.... still heavy and WAY more expensive.

I've read that the GT-R will be priced right around $100,000. I'm sure they're gunning for the top spot at the Nurburgring.
