Got pulled over tonight
Well...I've had the S2k for over two years now. For most of these two years I've had it, it's been lowered, aftermarket wheels, and Spugen exhaust. Never had any issues with the cops.
This past Monday, Kel helped me put in a K&N FIPK intake, and guess what happens! I got pulled over tonight!!
Basically the story:
- I'm leaving work at about 6:30pm.
- On Alondra in Cerritos heading towards the 5 South off of Carmenita.
- Pass by a Whittier cop car that's parked on the side
- Think to myself, what are the chances of him pulling me over...?
- Next thing I know, pulls up behind me and turns on the sirens
- Say to myself...you got to be kidding!
- Cop asks me to pop the hood and step out of the car
- I pop the hood, go to the front, and first thing I point to is the CARB sticker on the intake
- Cops asks "You got anything else...gears...turbo...nitrous...? Never actually looked into an S2000 engine bay before."
- I say "Nope officer, pretty much it."
- Cop says "Well, looks like you're legit. Just be careful with the exhaust. CHP might give you crap about it."
- I tell him thanks and drive away.
The cop was actually a pretty cool guy. Seemed like he was more interested in checking out the engine bay than anything else. And maybe the K&N sounds pretty aggressive on the outside.
Can't tell inside though cuz my exhaust pretty much drowns it out. All in all, a pretty interesting experience since it's the first time I got pulled over in this car.

Gears? Are you kidding me....what are they going to do? Jack up the car and make you pull your diff out? Give me an F'ng break. Even if you had them, you can lie. Glad to hear that You didn't get a ticket.
I imagine that K&N would be louder with your exhaust. How do you like it?

Cerritos scares me. I've been pulled over four times in my life... all four in Cerritos. They LOVE to nail kids who go to school in the area, because they all have nice modded cars, and there is no real crime to keep the cops busy.
In any event, it's cool that he didn't give you too much crap. Usually if a cop pulls you over and asks you to pop the hood, they've already decided something on your car is going to get you a ticket.

I'm glad nothing happened to you. I've had my fair share of both nice cops, and dick cops. Luckily most of the times that I've encountered dick cops haven't involved my car.

Definitely like it. Wish I bought it sooner.
