Hey guys,

I'm driving down from SF for some business in downtown LA pretty soon, and I want the car to be free of bug guts, road grime, and the like. Unfortunately, I'm staying at a hotel, and won't be able to wash the car myself. Is there a good, S2000-safe carwash or detailer around the downtown (or Westwood) area?

First off let me say I would never have my car washed at a car wash,but if you must you'll find most of the car washes in this area are "hand wash".I know of one on Sepulveda just south of Westwood.From Wilshire Blvd,head south a few miles and you'll see it on the right hand side of the street.Sorry,don't know the name but they wash all the well to do Westwood people's cars.Also another one on Washington Blvd called "Handy-J"to get there stay on Sepulveda going south again until you get to Washington Blvd. and turn right(it's a few blocks down)....good luck.

Some hotels offer car-wash service. You may want to check.

I don't think I can trust any hotel to wash an S2000. I'm only interested in places that know what they're doing.

That's not to say that I'm not grateful for the suggestion, Maverick.

in west LA on Olympic near Sawtelle is one where i take mine to when i'm lazy: full hand wash, interior clean, etc. for $18.

Sorry can't be of more help, but I will tell you to avoid Walker Detail on Robertson in Beverly Hills. Utter incompetence; I think they used windex on the rear window as it was actually cloudy (it never gets that way, even when I am lazy about washing it) when I went to pick up my car. Slicked up the tires, etc. Total amateurs although you wouldn't guess by the cars that are usually there.
