Hey guys,

I received a ticket for no front license plate yesterday in Irvine. (I freaking love Irvine cops)
Anyway, I thought this will only cost me 35 bux or so but according to my google research I read
that it will cost $178. Now i think that price is ridiculous if its true and wanted to find out
if anyone else got this ticket recently and how much they had to pay. On my ticket he checked the
yes box below where it says correctable violation and violation code is 5200(a)VC. I will greatly
appreciate any kind of help!

 

You can put your front plate on and get the ticket signed off by a officer. Then your ticket should be reduced to $25.

 

Go to the CHP office. I think the closest one is on Goldenwest between Garden Grove and Trask.

Get your ticket signed off and go to the Court house, near Beach and Westminster (about 2 miles away) Pay the $25 processing fee and you're good.

 

How did you get the ticket? Was the car parked or he pulled you over JUST for no plate parking. I used to work in Irvine for 4 years, never had any problem regarding no front plate. Pretty must most of the car driving in Irvine are BMW and none have front plates either.

I got pulled over on culver and irvine blvd while I was driving through the intersection. I also couldnt believe that cop pulled me over just for my front license plate. I thought they usually pull you over for something else first then if they decide to be an asshole they add on the fact that you dont have a front license plate.

btw thanks for the tip everyone! hopefully i can find my front license plate, if not does anyone know how much it will cost to get a new one?

 

I think it's about $20 bucks to get replacement plates. You might have to surrender your current plate because they don't issue duplicates, they'll issue you a new set.

wow that sucks, what does your car look like? can you post a picture? were you driving normally?

 

damn im always around that part of irvine without a front plate... though my car looks stock except for a slight drop, aftermarket exhaust, and tint. hope i dont jynx myself! :[

Yes, I always drive under speed limit and my car is fully stock except for the asm front bumper. (sold j's exhaust and wheels because I was going to sell my car) I just think that he pulled me over because my car is yellow and its easy to notice bright color cars. btw another thing that upsets me is the fact that the cop was asian! all the asians suppose to love s2000! Q_Q
