Free to a good home
We have a thirteen-year-old smooth collie and a nine-year-old Jack Russell terrier. The collie has gone deaf and he's rather arthritic, but he's a sweetheart and gets around OK.
Unfortunately, lately the terrier has been attacking him, and he's unable to defend himself. Because our kids are no longer at home most of the time - indeed, they're not kids (most of the time) - she's not getting the exercise she used to and this is how she's taken to burning off energy. We also recently found out that Jack Russells generally don't mix well with other breeds, something we wish we'd known before we got her.
So if you or anyone you know might be interested in a small, energetic, more-than-a-little-aggressive terrier, please let me know.
As you can see, I'm going to be very upfront about this dog; I don't want anyone thinking they're going to get a lap dog here. But for someone who likes an energetic companion, and doesn't have another dog around, she might be perfect.
Thanks!

Have you tried putting the dog on the recycler? They dont charge anything for an ad and they post your ad on thursdays for 2 weeks when the "Recycler" comes out. Your ad will also be on the internet for people to view as well.
I bought a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier from the Recycler and like yourself I didn't know that they didn't mix well with other breeds. I have 3 dogs at my house already, 1 boy and 2 girls, and I experienced the same situation as yourself. I have a 14 year old cocker spaniel and the Jack Russell I brought home, also a girl, would attack the older dog and lock her jaws on her ears. One of the worst experiences ever with a dog that I have had my whole life, and it happened MORE than once.
But on a better note I did give the Jack Russell to my g/f and she is happy there with a boy JRT. Try the Recycler. You most likely will have someone contact you on your ad. Good luck!!

The only way JRTs get along with other breeds is if they are both puppies and are raised together. I have one along with a dachshund and they get along pretty well. To this day I have yet to see a single breed with as much energy as a JRT!! It's also a dog that needs a lot of love and attention. (They get bored easily and do damage!!!!)
Hope he finds a good home.
