a shot of tequila is always a good option.....

I'm an acupuncturist and I do use cupping.
I have the ones with pump and plastic cups since they are safer and easier to use.

They are used as treatments for different diseases and sometimes with blood letting technique like some of you mentioned.

If you think this is the dumbest thing you've seen...that's fine...
But this has been around for only thousands of years...
Why would we still use this if it didn't work...
