Famous Ap2 Carbon Syncro
If you guys where wondering what the difference between ap1 transmission and ap2 transmissions. Here is one of the differences aside from the taller secondary gear and longer 5th and 6th gear.
Ap2 uses carbon coated dual friction syncros:

If i'm not mistaken, Honda changed the syncros to carbon back in 2002 in response to consumer concerns about transmission shift feel quality. Is this carbon syncro different from the 2002 and up units?
I remember because I was at the auto show when the 2002 model was introduced and carbon syncros was one of the more interesting refinements I noticed.

Yea, but its probably better to buy aftermarket syncros cuz Honda only sells the syncros with the gear set, which is more expensive. Or you can just get an ap2 trans, probably cheaper.

i get 2nd gear grinds once in a while, makes me feel like i dont know how to shift
