I understand that this is a high performance car and it needs maintenance but the rip off is in selling the warranty that is not being honored.

Did you rule out the noise coming from the wheel bearings? Because wheel bearings make noise in a lot of S's, and if not treated timely, can lead to diff problems. Does your dealership use something called a chassis ear to figure out where the sound is coming from? Cause it sounds like they are just playing a guessing game over there.

Do you mind telling us which dealership this is, so that we can all avoid it? Any way you can just pick up and leave your dealership and go to one that's more proven to be customer-friendly? Dunno if you wanna drive all the way down to Weseloh Honda in San Juan Capistrano (they have well over 250 S2000 customers, which makes them pretty experienced and used to the S), but that's my recommendation.

Best of luck!

Hey Wavelet,

I used to go to Santa Monica Honda too, but they tried to charge me for something that should've been covered under warranty also. I also had a very bad experience with their customer service.

I know it's kind of far, but you really should take your car down to Weseloh in San Juan Capistrano. I took my car their and they saved me $1000, since they replacd my clutch under warranty. Make sure you talk to Tony.

From my personal experience, I think Weseloh really fights for their customers more. I've talked to a lot of other people, and they were able to get their cars fixed under the warranty a lot easier at Weseloh than at anywhere else.

Good luck.

recently my clutch is making some noise and took my car to the dealer and they told me i have to pay $72 first for them to diagnose the problem. after that, they'll call honda care to see if they want to cover it under the extended warranty. so... should i pay them for the diagnose?
honda sould do something about their dealers...

Yeah, it must be the wheel bearings that's what somebody else told me as well. I'm sure they knew what the cause was since even non-professionals can determine it, they were just trying to suck me little by little into replacing the perfectly working differential.
In any case why the hell should I pay for stuff that didn't fix the problem?? They may as well replace the airbags and the engine for somebody who doesn't know anything at all about cars. There must be some kind of protection against this kind of shiit. This is ridiculous.
