ever think of moving away from socal
the weather's great, lots of food, nightlife for some
cons:traffic, mean people, cost of living, crime in some cases
i grew up here and never thought of leaving until recently. after some travelling, it feels like people are so much nicer away from here and besides job issues, why would people want to stay?

I think about leaving almost as frequently as wishing others would...
Welcome to SoCal... Now go home!
I'm looking at land in Hawaii, but it's MONDO expensive... Maybe retire
there someday.

"no matter where you go, there you are" - it means if you're not happy, changing your location won't do much.
LA is a tough pill to swallow but if you like cars - there is no better place period.

I've thought about it many times. People do seem nicer away from Socal from what I've seen and there aren't so many reckless drivers. As mentioned above, there aren't many other places where you can get somewhat consistent weather throughout the year, but I'd much rather live in a place where people aren't so rude and obnoxious.

True, to some extent... But, for example, I don't think
I'd enjoy life as much if I had to move to, say,
Podunk, Wyoming.

I really want to move to New Hampshire. The winters there are beautiful. The people are super nice, and the cost of land is obnoxiously cheap.
My friend has a 3 bedroom house w/ a 2 car garage and a huge backyard out there. He only pays 800 a month to rent. It makes no sense to live here with those kind of prices. If that is the price to rent, imagine how cheap it would be to own land there.
