I'm in Anaheim right now, visiting Disneyland for the week with my cousins.. I was waiting in line, underground, for one of the attractions when the ground started swaying back and forth. We thought it was a part of the ride, but then the technicians came in and evacuated the entire building. Pretty trippy feeling... I could see the lights and pillars swaying back and forth.

Well, I was trying to be sarcastic LOL.
I think I am so used to these that at first I am like "Oh crap...wtf?" Then I realize it's an earthquake and nothing's really falling down so I shrug it off. The way I see it is this, the ceilings of industrial buildings are normally drywall type of materials so even if you get hit it's not that bad. Second, if you're in a multi-story building then you're screwed either way because if you're at the bottom and it collapses then you're done. If you're in the middle and it collapses you're also done. Pretty much if you're going to die then you're going to die. Sure I'll start a duck under the desk thing if it's a single story, but the chances of you surviving while hiding under a table in a multistory building if it collapses is pretty damn slim.
I know that sounds pretty dry, but I blame the IT industry for making me all jaded....true story

Nightline just said there is a greater than 50% chance of having an earthquake in Socal of a magnitude around 7.8 in the next 30 years and a 1/20 chance today's quake leads to something bigger.
Scary....
