I had an old E36, that was in immaculate condition I really miss that car!
The only reason I don't have it anymore is because one day I was putting on blow off valves on my friends 300Z. If anyone here has done that on that car before, they know that it is a TRUE PITA.
So, I came up with the brilliant idea of having HIM go pick up beer in my car while I continue to work on it.
He crashed it before the end of the block Bastard.
The only mechanical issue I had with that car was the sunroof stopped working. Other than that, I had this problem of girls constantly checking me out too
Go for it, they are great cars for the value

I'm on bimmerfest.com and e46fanatics.com
I was gonna get the E36 M3 but many were high mileage so found a good E46 for me.
I drove my friend's E36 M3 awhile back and enjoyed every minute of it even though I drove it for like a stretch of road and that was about it.

forget about the e36 and 46, look at the clean arse e30!
That car is the reason why i ended up with an s2000. After driving that car, i realized how much fun light weight cars are to drive. Before that it was all about getting the biggest numbers....now i could car less as long as the car is nimble.
