Does Anyone Work in the Film Industry
A good friend of mine had his niece recently move into his house after she graduated from the University of North Carolina majoring in film. She is working hard to get into the industry but is having a rough time meeting people who are working in it. If anyone works in the industry or knows someone who might just be able to talk to her and meet her that would be a big help to a fellow S2ki member. Thanks for reading and your help!!

good question, I think eventually she wants to get into producing. But for now I am sure she would take any job to get her foot in the door.

Would she be interested in an internship? (Probably unpaid, but with a happening production co.)
Unless she's absolutely driven to this industry, talk her into a real job. This business is not an easy life, and it's especially hard on women.
Both my daughters have wisely decided not to follow in dad's footsteps.

I've been trying since 94 and it is hard as hell to get your foot in the door, that's why I went into buisness for my self as a IC post production edditor / camera operator. I've worked with a couple of big production companies but that was every once in a great while. I hope her video portfollo is real impressive, because that's half the battle, then knowing someone is the other half.
