Differentiating between Synthetic and Mineral
I went to the dealer to get an oil change and they charged me for just conventional oil but they kept telling me they made a mistake and put in the synthetic oil I requested. I want to make sure before I start topping off the oil.
How do you tell the difference by just looking or feeling the oil from the dipstick?

1) You ask Dealer for a synthetic oil change.
2) You get invoice for dino oil change.
3) You question invoice charge.
4) Dealer sez, "Yah, yah, that's right, we put in synthetic but only charged you for dino. My bad."
5) You say, "Gosh, you're so nice. I lub u. ?
What really happened in step 4:
4) Dealer sez to himself, "Ah fook. We did a standard oil change with the dino oil. I'm not gonna change this shit for this fooker--that'll be time and oil that I have to eat. I'm gonna tell him that we gave him the good shit for the price of dino. LOL"
I suppose you could send away for an oil analysis but it's hardly worth the effort. Just change it again yourself so you know exactly what is in there. You'll sleep better at night.
If you really need help, pm me and I'll help you do it because I hate fooking, lying, cheating, no good dealers.

if the work order when he first showed up and asked for an oil change said synthetic and he signed it then they have a problem
You think the court will look at a work order as a contract?? Don't think so...it would be stretch to show "consideration" which is necessary....maybe there was "reliance" on the op's part. But you also have to show "harm".....and there really was none, since they charged for dino.....
I don't see it........
