Different Oil voids Vehicle Warranty?
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to know if using something like LE607 for the rear differential would void the warranty of the differential. I know it shouldn't because it is a differential oil that ACTUALLY exactly meets the REQ. for our differential, 90w GL-5.
Transmission oil too, I like the GM Friction Modified Syncromesh tranny oil. Will usage of this void the transmission warranty.
I just wanted to know incase in the future, I get any problems w/ the dealership. Please, less opinion and more experience/facts. I really want to get to the bottom of this issue! Thanks guys!

I use Mobile One for engine and rear-end.
I use Honda MTF for the tranny.
Waited for the proper time for the engine wear-in and went from dyno oils to synthetics for the most part.

No, it will not void the warranty. If i remember correctly the manual says that any 90W oil will do fine.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, since I dont have the manual in front of me, but I think they are specific regarding the transmission fluid--they specifically say to use Honda MTF only.
PS
Technically, according to the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, if damage occurs the dealer can not just void the warranty, they need to prove that the part/oil/etc is the cause of the damage.
But, unfortunately, real life seems to work different and I've heard warranty being voided for ridiculous reasons.
