I never understood why people only play the lottery when it's super high. $1,000,000, $10,000,000 or $100,000,000 is still worth the $1 investment.

Of course it is worth the investment, but 1,000,000 would hardly allow one to retire (unless invested in other things etc etc etc) So why even bother trying to waste such a miracle on something that will barely make a difference in life?

You end up sharing the big ones with more people. The best to play are the lower-medium sized one. And don't pick commonly picked numbers such as 7 because it increased the chance of having to share with more people.

Not sure I agree with that one.

The odds of winning are so minute that pots (even big ones) are rarely shared, except when pools of people buy tickets as a group.

Speaking of which...

I PLEDGE TO GIVE $1,000,000 (TOTAL) TO THE PEOPLE ON THIS THREAD IF I WIN THE JACKPOT...AS LONG AS THEY AGREE TO DO THE SAME IF THEY WIN.

(must have proof that they played to collect, and the must agree to this ahead of time)

Anyone in for a little MegaMillions side pot?
