Default Desperately need suggstions 4 camping around socal

I'm sure the s2000 community probably isn't the best to ask about camping suggestions but what the heck.

I'm planning a camping trip next weekend (short notice for registration I know) somewhere in socal - doesn't need to be too close or far - and I'd like recommendations on some good places in the area. Some requirements are good views, preferably near the ocean, and good hiking trails if possible.

I'm open to all suggestions because a good couple places I've tried to book have been full already. Getting a little desperate ..

There's a camp ground about 20 minutes south of Irvine. I can't recall the name.

Few areas I cam and off-road in the Jeep.

Depends on how much catering you need really.

Are you pitching a tent? Or are you using a camper?

Do you need running water etc. near you?

I like to get away from people so I go up Lytle Creek.

^ Theres a full on camp ground, it's a national forest.

I like to camp up the trail on the "yellow" posts which means nothing more than a fire pit and a yellow post.

That's just me though, you could always stay at the base site, plenty of hiking around there.

San Onofre is ok.

Joshua Tree, Big Bear also are pretty decent.
