Truth is that nothing much will change. With a Republican President and only the House in the hands of the Dems, nothing will happen that the Republican's don't really want anyway. No bill is even given to the Pres until both houses work on it through committee. It looks like the Senate may be 50/50, which gives the advantage to the Republicans because the VP gets a vote in the event of a tie.

They will try to abolish the tax breaks, bring up some abortion stuff, and probably make some noise about legalizing illegal immigrants. Nothing will happen, but expect a lot more noise as the next Presidential election comes around. They'll work to pass some bills that they know the President will not sign just to have something to hold against the Republicans in the Presidential race.

The worst part is that the uncertainty of it all, and the anti-business mentality of democrats will make the stock market turn downward. That will keep all of the old foggies in corporate america from retiring for a few more years as they wait for their 401k's to come back to real money. Fewer cool promotions for those of us who want to advance.

On and on...

That doesn't make any sense, democrats didn't take over republicans, they took over the House, and may possibly take majority in the Senate.

Talk about regime change, Rumsfeld is out as well. Can't wait to see what happens in the next presidential election. There are so many interesting candidates potentially running.

The house in the hands of the Democrats and soon the Senate, once VA does a recount. It may be conicidence, but it's finally prompted Bush to flush that dysfunctional "Dummy Rummy". That in itself makes lastnights Democatic victory worthwhiled.

With the democrats in power, the tax for capital gain when selling your house will go up. Last time democrats were in power tax was close to 47%, currently it is 15%. I suspect it will go up again.
