1) Not as long as Bush keeps claiming God put him in office

2) Not as long as churches are used as polling places

3) Not as long as One Nation Under God remains in the Pledge.

4) Not as long as politicians get sworn in on a bible.

5) Not as long as the Religious Right tries to have a stranglehold on lawmakers.

Separation of Church and State will never be complete.....but they are linked now more than ever.
btw, I was raised Catholic.

I tell people I am a practicing Catholic.....I haven't gotten it right yet.

Me too. Non practicing, but still believe that there is some sort of "higher power" out there. Too many hypocrite's in the Catholic Church. I'm converting to buddhism

And did I hear you're bringing a mike stand to Matt's event.
I kinda liked the human one you used
at the Dreamcation Memorial
I'll tell her.

But I can't ask her to hold the mic for 9 or 12 songs......her arm will fall asleep for sure.

btw I dropped an anti-Bush song from our set. I think it would be inappropriate for this event, though OK for a club.

Just so you know I'm not a total jerk.

"After the allegations were made public, Haggard resigned as president of the influential National Association of Evangelicals, an umbrella group representing more than 45,000 churches with 30 million members."

"Haggard was one of a group of religious leaders who regularly participated in conference calls with White House aides, Time magazine reported.

On Friday, the White House sought to downplay Haggard's influence within the administration.

Spokesman Tony Fratto told reporters Friday that it was inaccurate to portray him as being close to the White House, insisting Haggard was only an occasional participant in weekly conference calls between West Wing staff and leading evangelicals.

"He has been on a couple of calls," Fratto said. "He's been to the White House one or two times."

Last year, Time -- citing Haggard's White House access -- put him on its list of the nation's 25 most influential evangelicals"

My wife is into Taoism now....it seems to match her spiritual, but non-religious side.

Yeah, lots of hypocrisy.......priests molesting kids, the Church always looking for money while millions of $$ in artwork are in the Vatican basement.....

Yup

Instead of building these multi-million dollar churches that look like museum's, why can't they use the money towards feeding the hungry or housing the homeless?
