Default Dash help

So here's the deal: I have a gps system that I had mounted to my dash via a round dashtop mounting unit that sticks onto the dash with double-sided tape. Well, it apparently wasn't strong enough and after about a month of being on there, it fell off. But I guess during the time it was mounted on there, the weight of the gps unit left an impression point on the dash where the double-sided tape base was mounted. Now I was wondering if there is anyway to get rid of this by maybe heat-gunning the area or what not to smooth it out. But since the dash isn't leather, I doubt it'd do anything good, so I was wondering if anyone here could possibly pitch in some advice.

I have no advice. I just thought this thread needed a bump.

Anybody?
