Wow, Josiah! Glad you and Jennifer are ok! That's a total nightmare...and how scary that you can't reach 911 when you need it!!! Hope you feel better soon! BTW...if your insurance company can swing it, Pilates is generally better than physical therapy for healing and there's a good place across from your apartment.

Yup... Idiots everywhere! A bunch of stuck cars due to people not noticing the 2 foot deep puddles in most of the right lanes. If you can't see the curb, it's probably pretty deep. Thank goodness for the TRD though.

Kinda made me feel bad... I said kinda (for the car that is) but I saw a nice black kitted Z on wheels stuck just after one of the really deep ones. Cold air/water intake?

[QUOTE=The Raptor,Oct 20 2004, 08:07 AM] A little bit of rain and So Cal drivers turn into complete idiots.

Damn Josiah, that was a scary story. I hope you two come out ok with zero lasting injuries.

I feel fortunate at times like this to be using public transportation for all my basic needs. Pretty much every time I drive my car for any reason, it's an optional trip. That means I can choose not to do it if the weather is unreasonable. Unfortunately many don't have that choice.

Dayum Josiah, I am glad you folks are OK!

That really sucks about 911 - don't have time to chase a hit-and-run? Shit, too busy ticketing race-ready-looking cars to persue actual criminals, I reckon - that or a sale on cop food and Dunkin Donuts.

On the other hand: Unfortunately, I guess chasing hit and run drivers in LA would be like chasing jaywalkers in midtown Manhattan.......

Thanks for the support, guys and gals! We are recovering pretty well. It's amazing what anti-inflammatories can do for your body. I *know* when I forget to take my medicine, but with my meds I'm able to work almost a full work day now -- maybe 6.5 or so hours. I think we should both be fine.

A side note: the insurance inspector came out and gave us an estimate of $975 (why not $999.99?!). How convenient that our deductible is $1,000 and that we'd have to pay 100% out of pocket unless the insurance company allows our uninsured motorist claim. (They are saying we can't claim he's uninsured because the guy wasn't caught by the cops. My lawyer is not so sure about the legality of that position. <sarcasm> Way to reward hit and run felonies, insurance co. -- that's great for everyone's rates! </sarcasm>)

Oh well, it'll all work out ... slowly. I think I'm going to spring for a Herman Miller Mirra chair today to take the stress off of my neck and shoulders when I work. I don't know what's worse, the wallet pain of a $719 chair or more pain in the neck... Okay, I do, but it's a rediculously expensive price for comfort.
