Default Crashed the S the other week

It was about 5AM, I was on my way to work and entering the 405N/5N on-ramp from Bake Pkwy. I was entering the bend at around 65 mph when my rear slipped away and never caught, did a quick 180 and went into the ditch immediately. Luckily I did not hit any cars near me and I was able to walk away from it scratch free. The rear axle is completely destroyed, I will post pics when I get off work.

Obviously, I had poor judgement and should have gone slower due to the colder/icy weather. But what is done is done.

I filed my claim with Wawanesa and they just told me that my car is totaled and would be cashing me out instead of repairs which I'm relieved about but sad at the same time.

I'm now in the market of a used 07 Lexus GS 350, if anyone has hookups please let me know.

This was just a reminder to be careful out there. I saw another car crash at the exact same spot, unfortunately his accident was way worse as the car actually rolled and smashed everything.

**Update w/ pics** Sorry for the poor quality, taken w/ my Treo.
Btw, my tire wasn't underneath my car until it got towed =] Before, it didn't look THAT bad.

I loved that car and with it having less than 40k miles under it, it was still spankin new. My first initial reaction was to get one to replace it immediately but then I thought about being more practical. I was debating between a e46 M3, gs350, g37s convertible and s2000. The G37s is just too much money I want to spend right now, I was concerned with the reliability of the M3 (since I would be purchasing it out of warranty) so the compromise was the GS350. I do see myself back in an S2000, but later on in my life after I purchased a house and what not. I'll still be trolling the boards =]

I saw a used 08 S2000 CR going for 26k, does anyone know what is up with this vehicle? Seems a little fishy.

Anyway, don't they usually offer you a buy-back? If their offer is low enough I don't see why you can't keep the S to work on later and still have some money for your practical car. I'd totally take it if that were the case. Track car in the making!

The buy back offer was for $4386. About 20% of the value. I'm not a mechanic so I'm not sure if it is worth the trouble of buying it back.
