Cop put wrong name on ticket
Hey, So i get this ticket like 3 weeks ago and the officer put my last name as PAM.
whereas my name is DAM. of course he meant DAM but i guess he was in a rush and drew the line too long so it looks like PAM. Now, i just got the courtesy notice (which the last name is PAM) a couple days ago and tried to pay it online but i couldn't with my real last name.
SO my question is.. since this ticket is TECHNICALLY not under my name.. is there anything i can do about that? or should i just go to court and tell them they put the wrong name and pay the stupid fine and go to traffic school??/
thanks

well if the cop had difficulty in getting the correct name (which is pretty much copying from your DL) then how can he/she be capable of giving you a ticket for what you were doing? UNLESS you got a DUI or something major. but then again thats just my .02

you're drivers license number, registration, address and lic plate are on the ticket. You're still screwed.
you can play dumb and go to the court clerk with NO ID. and tell them you want to take care of a ticket. when they can't find anything under your name (since you don't have ID and can't seem to remember your CDL number) they will give you a paper saying your went, and they cleared you.
try it, GL

My experience with ticket errors is it makes them 10x easier to get thrown out. I had a judge toss out a ticket because my last name was spelled wrong, and my friend got his thrown out for pretty much same as you, right info but the cop put the passenger's name down instead. Although he did get the ticket in alabama so it was negotiated over the phone, dont know if that made a difference.

Also if you have the money you can fight pretty much anything. I got a ticket for going over 100 which is automatic license suspension but Mr. Ticket got it down to just a point on my record. Of course that cost me about $2000. And nick hogan was drag racing on public streets, was going over 100, put his friend in a coma, had a blood alchohol level being under 21, and it was his like 4th offense in 3 years, and he only got his license suspended for a year, which is really just a slap on the wrist for what he did.
