cop pulled over me for vehicle inspection??!
i got pulled over today morning and the cop didn't ask me anything except asked me to pop the hood to see if i have intake or header?!?! 
well, i thought he was going to give me a fix ticket for no front license plate... good thing that he let me go. but is that normal?
btw, i was late to school because of this ^&%(^&$%....

The problem is you will lose the argument on probable cause. He can just say he heard some unusual sound. Has ANYONE here EVER succeeded in refusing an inspection?
Weird that he went to the trouble but didn't bag you for the front plate.

From my understanding (ie. read: I'm not a lawyer), the cop needs a warrant or probable cause to search a car. You can ask him to see a warrant first, and if he says he's got probable cause, you can ask him what it is (and then bend over). Any lawyers out there who can set this straight? That just seems like profiling and is not right...

i was just asking be17amin this the other day (he is a high powered attorney) ... he says that they do need probable cause, and you do have the right to say 'no' to them. however, the second you do that, they will likely come up with some probable cause, and not only spot your murderous, horrible, illegal cai, but throw the book at you for it and anything else they can think of.
bottom line, best to play along with a bunch of 'yes sirs' thrown in and hope for the best.

i feel like we're just another poor import racer on street... cops still have the power to do anything they want and they can pick on every little thing if they don't like you... i really don't wanna say this but i feel some of them are racist. driving a honda doesn't mean that we're just another civic racer.
i don't have any aftermarket parts under my hood, just the exhaust...
couple minutes after i saw that cop again on the freeway and he pulled over another civic... sigh
