confused about career choices
as of right now i am interning at a dental office. the more im learning and observing; the more im not sure if this is something i would want to do for the rest of my life. othro seems more enjoyable and fun then a general dentist. also ive been given advice to go into medical field instead. if i were to go for medical id probably go for a general physician or cardiologist. if i do go into dental ill have an easier time getting into USC for grad school beacuse of family hook ups from two uncles. what im asking is if anybody has any advice to give me if it even make sense( really tired since its 3 in morning so if any of this doesnt make sense ill correct it or clarify it later).

I've heard dentistry leads to suicide! J/K
Well I think it used to. I think that's just an urban myth now.
Do what will make you happy. My job is low stress, I get benifits, a lot of time off, but the pay is a tad low. However I'm really content. Its not my dream job, but it gives me time to do what I want.

You need to ask yourself the following questions regarding MD:
1.)I want to become a _____ because of money, prestige, knowledge, helping people, job security, because my parents want me to, etc

go where you want to go. You got to work EXTREMELY hard at to get there, trust me, i'm a med student.
as long as you're willing to give the time and day for success in your future, you'll have your options open.
Go from your experience, i'm sure you're still young, you have time to decide after getting some experience in both field by interning.
GOod luck wherever you decide to go to.

Ask yourself this question 1st:
Do you have a 3.5 AVG in your core classes? If you don't, have a plan "B".
Most of the schools are VERY competative. Anything under a 3.1, 3.2 and you're not getting in unless it's out of state or a third tier school.
Ask yourself this 2nd:
Why medical? Is it your idea? or your parents idea? Have you worked for an MD? Cardiologist?
