College Next Year. Help?
Hey guys,
I'm going to be attending college next year! I was wondering if you could give me some advice, I was thinking about going to UCI or UCLA, UCI so I could stay more in the area though. Anway! I was wondering if anybody would have some advice for me or anything I should know? I'm going to be sending in applications in about a month or so, so PLEASE HELP!

Find out which school is better in what you want to major in. And not just UCI v. UCLA - any school you have a shot at. It's more important to be somewhere where your education will be top notch than to stay in familiar surroundings. It would probably be even better if you attend school somewhere else; see another part of the country and experience something new.

Are you sure you can get into UCLA?
School may be overrated but it's admission requirement is total
It's easier to get into Berkeley than UCLA.
With that said, you should pick your school based on what you want to major in.
i.e.
computer science - UCI
mechanical engineering - UC Berkeley
Bioengineering - UCSD
Business - USC or UC Berkeley
And always apply as undeclared; applying as CS is probably the dumbest mistake I ever made when I applied to UC. Besides what you thought you wanted to major in might not be what you end up doing.
I probably changed my major three times in the last two years.
As far as environment goes, UCLA is crowded and expensive. UCSD has nice weather, is quiet and not as expensive but boring. UC Berkeley is pretty depressing, and the UCI's biggest fault is that it's in Irvine.

Thanks for the responces. I'm still trying to decide on a major. As far as seeing other things, I've been to alot of places and I like to travel, I'd rather stay in the area-ish for school. UCLA that bad...I'll have to apply to more in the area, in the unlikely event I get accepted to more than one, do I just pick?
Thanks
