Most recently, Laurie pleaded guilty in January for driving solo in a car-pool lane last August

Is this the group that does the Harvest Festival? I went to a soundcheck in Anaheim Stadium once to upgrade their software, since the digital mixing consoles were ours.......
I don't think it was a matter of "he wasn't as into the religion thing as his family"
as much as the fact that the guy is a human being. Regardless of your faith
or spirituality, everyone does stupid things, gets stressed, makes mistakes.
I wonder what was going on with him.
How can a person possibly not notice stopped cars in front of them..

i want to say about this situation. They live in orange county richly and luxuriously while their church is mainly poor people in riverside... They take the money from the poor and pocket it to their rich selves...
I ask would they still run the church if it didn't pay the way it did. I'd say no!

You have no idea what you are talking about and should shut the up.
Sadly, it is not unusual......

Holy smokes~! (No pun intended) From CBS:
Laurie was driving alone at a high rate of speed in the eastbound carpool lane when he struck a Caltrans truck at the rear of a convoy of street sweeping vehicles moving at about 15 mph, according to the CHP.
The rear truck had a flashing arrow to warn drivers and had lowered its crash-arresting barrier, according to Caltrans. Pictures from the accident scene showed that Laurie's car hit so hard that it smashed through the crash arresters and crumpled into the truck's back axle and wheels.
Laurie was wearing a seat belt but he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

I think some ppl are being a tad unfair to this guy.
ya it sux and he was REALLY stupid... but there are alot of ppl who do REALLY stupid things everyday. this poor guy is being ruthlessly criticized because of his close connection to the church. He isnt perfect just because of his relationship with Harvest Church.
This is highly unfortunate for his family and i pray for emotional strength and support for all of them. Please just leave this man be, and let it go.

i think it should also be mentioned that when you hear of someone close to you, a friend, or a family member, you want to help out right? im sure there are alot of people who felt they "knew" this person and wanted to help out, whether this family needed the financial help or not. some ppl feel that if they help, they can get over it. and im sure the family will appreciate the obvious support out there, ragardless of what the $ figure is.
