But, I do not believe in soft-shoeing. Buck up and admit the truth: He was reckless MANY MANY times and it caught up to him. Period. End of story . Next.
Harsh? Yes. Truth? Yes. Truth is usually harsh. That's life........and death.

"what goes around comes around" or "fate". He just got
unlucky this time, where-as I've gotten lucky so far (although
I haven't done anything quite as stupid as he did).
I don't need to "buck up and admit" to anything--I would be the
first to stay that he was reckless (see my VERY FIRST post
in this thread). How do ones past actions "catch up" with one?
Period. End of Story. Next.
Harsh, yeah. Not sure how that harshness helps things exactly.
If his wife read your post (of course, most unlikely), I doubt it
would be something that encouraged her during this tough time.
Let's be helpful to our fellow man, rather than thumb our noses
at them when they fail.
The other day, I was walking while reading, and tripped. Got what
I deserved? Sure. A car coming from the other way witnessed
the event, and the driver laughed hysterically. Yeah, I'm an overly
sensitive emo, but it made me a little sad. What happened to
people looking our for their fellow man and showing a little kindness
to strangers?

I think things are in gradations.....not all black and white....You got laughed at maybe because you were OK. Pratfalls have been a part of comedy forever!! If you fell and got hurt, you have no proof that that person would NOT have helped you......

Insurance rates are based upon risk. More tickets, more accidents equal higher rates because you're a risk.
Chris Laurie demonstrated a propensity for breaking traffic laws. We also know, based upon testimony from Greg Laurie, that Chris was a spoiled brat. He was driving a new Dodge when he crashed in the CARPOOL lane. Remember, it was his modus operandi to drive this way.
Did he show disregard for traffic law because tickets were easily covered by his wealthy father or was he just a shitty driver? Was he unlucky or did he die because he took REPEATED chances?
He's off the roads - thank God.

What I fault him for the most is being THAT reckless with a wife and baby at home....
Yeah,
when you have a family, ya gotta start being
a little more responsible with your life--thinking
about someone other than yourself.
What could he possibly have been thinking???

Oh......what did I miss? Let me go back and look....
Minal (26), a student of architecture at Virginia Tech, has been missing since the shooting in which 33 people, including students and faculty members, were killed by a South Korean student.
