LOL....so I went and tighten the gas cap and it worked. Thanks BC. I am still curious why a loose gas cap would throw a CEL though lol.
The car is designed to do that. Would be nice if there were a "check gas cap" light.
First thing to check with CEL is the gas cap.

Is your sac loose too, that's why you revived a dead thread?

I was looking for info on VSA light being on and came across this.

From what I've read, the VSA will be disabled if CEL is on... Can't
find anything to verify this though..

I don't know dude, did my sac seem loose to you last night?

BTW, I have a ODB2 CEL reader.
Anyone in OC needs their codes read, bring me a can of
ROCKSTAR and you can use it.

I also thought you had to do 3 warm up cycles...... so off/on doesn't work.

I know my wife just called a few weeks back saying CEL in her jeep, 3 Days later it was gone.

my gf's civic had a CEL couple months ago.. it gave a catalytic converter inefficiency code.. i cleared and kept driving just hoping that the O2 sensor was just hiccuping or something... CEL came back on 2 weeks later.. read same thing ... friend told me to just drive the car as hard as i can on the freeway for about 2-3miles and it should blow out... sure enough CEL never came back on..
