Default CEL? What the heck?

So I am getting a solid CEL whenever I start the car. It was driving just fine, but about 2 minutes after I filled up at Mobil and drove off the CEL light came on with the VSA warning.

I drove all the way home, stopped the car, and restarted. This time around the only thing that is on is the CEL light. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Your gas cap is loose, like your sac.

Try to TIGHTEN your gas cap, drive 30 miles. Should turn off.

Isn't it something like 3 driving cycles?

Not that long, 30-40 miles of driving will reset it.

BC likes sacs

OK. I tighten the gas cap and will be driving home later from this place so we'll see, although I don't know how a loose gas cap would throw a CEL LOL.

LOL....so I went and tighten the gas cap and it worked. Thanks BC. I am still curious why a loose gas cap would throw a CEL though lol.

This happens to me a lot. 4 of 4 of my CELs in my AP1 have been this. It just unscrews itself every couple fill-ups. Kinda weird.
