I heard that too...but you have to make sure that the car doesn't have rust. Thats one issue I didn't want to deal with on cars from the East Coast. I'd rather pay a bit more for a dryer climate area owner.

1. Rainy weather=rust
2. Island state=shipping fees

With land mass only miles of a distance from ocean water from one side of the island to the other, vehicles which we all know contain alloys of all kinds, especially good ol' steel and metal will corrode much faster than your average car in california and the west coast.... Hawaii has great weather year around, but the tropical climate, along with moisture, evaporation, and oxidation will create rust which is a general term for iron oxides formed by the reaction of iron with oxygen.

The overall outcome of rust formation involves reaction of iron with varying amounts of oxygen and water, if you didn't know that either...

If you ever go to Hawaii, go to a local parking lot, and look under the vehicles, especially the exhaust... You will notice the amount of rust on most of them......
