Car Wash in SFV
Does anyone know if I can take my S only to certain car wash places? I went to the car wash on De Soto and Ventura this morning, and the guy said he didn't want to put the car through the rail because he was concerned something could get damaged. Then he wanted to charge me $20 for a hand wash outside.
There was a member here who I believe organized some washes in Woodland Hills somewhere. I mostly wash the car myself at the self serve but didn't have time this week. Any suggestions for Car Wash places? Granada Hills works too. TIA.

It IS an all hand wash car wash. They wash it by hand while the car goes through the rail, so it doesn't come out any better.
I can do it by hand at the DIY for $5 and get some exercise at the same time. But since I was coming to work I wasn't in my car wash attire, Capiche?
I think it was just a spur of the moment decision and a way for him to make extra $$ (my car is not lowered), and I didn't feel like paying for that since it's supposed to rain this weekend anyway.
I can see I am going to get lots of great "advice" instead of a car wash recommendation, and I don't want my inbox filled with nonsense emails. So, topic closed.

go to cruisers on tampa next to costco and pay for a hand wash...if your car is lowered its impossible to take it through the rails unless u want your front end effed up...its better that way but at least the machines wont mess up ur car... or like u said take it to a DIY place spend 4 bucks..

I have a great hand carwash place $8 before 11 $13 after located on laurel cyn and saticoy. this place is great because they are 100%hand wash and you drive the car in & out they don't drive your car but you would have to request that. Slammed car friendly as well. they even use microfiber to dry off on the nice cars. Sorry don't remember the name of the place but i go there once a week just never paid attention.
