Car Sputtering
Hey everyone,
In the past week my car has been acting up quite a bit. It feels as if its sputtering and not getting enough fuel or something. The car backfires quite a bit when you are on the throttle as well. I added fuel injector cleaner and I'm going to pull the spark plugs in a little bit to check those. Does anyone else have any ideas on what may be wrong?
Thanks for the help
-Adam
P.S. Also the CEL is on but i have no way of pulling up the code myself without paying a mechanic some outrageous amount of money.

Outrageous amount of money to pull a code? It takes 2 seconds and im sure a fellow SoCal member would be more than happy to help. If not, Spugen can probably take care of ya!

you can read the code yourself W/O a code puller, is it sputtering at all sorts of rpms or when can you make it happen the most? Sounds like the infamous MAP sensor problem offhand but could be anything else.

It sputters most at low rpms... especially in first gear... the car has no power whatsoever as well... I banged on the map sensor the other day... but i didn't pull it off... should i pull it off before banging on it?

Dosn't Autozone do it for free (pull codes)?
