Can I borrow your wing?
Anyone have a trunk with a big wing on it that I can borrow for the track on friday the 7th? I can trade my stock trunk (black) for the day.
I've read the stories about how the wing can help on the track and I plan to do Streets that day.
Thanks!

If you're running Streets of Willow, I'm sure you don't need the wing. Most of the turns are fairly slow corners anyway.
Sounds like you're gonna be running the SERCA track day. It'll be fun. Definitely lots of track time the last time I went.

JZR had his BAUW at Streets last month for the SV event and it definitely made a significant difference. See the write up at nsxfiles.com for more on this event. As soon as I fix my suspension I'm getting a BAUW!!!!

Ok, granted I haven't driven the S at Streets (only my G) but how many turns are actually taken at speeds where the wing would be effective? It'll probably help at the banked hairpin and the turns leading up to it. Maybe at the esses after the back straight and the 1st turn (kink is more like it) on the front straight. Otherwise, aren't most of the turns slower speed hairpins and 90-deg. turns?
Now if you were running at Willow Springs Intl. Raceway (Big Willow), then I can definitely see the need for a big wing.

You'd have to ask the guy who had the wing but he and the other guy who borrowed it from him got the two best times of the day I believe. The consensus from those of us who had to compete, and get passed by, JZR was that the wing improved his times. His comments were along the lines of how it helped plant the rear end. As far as what turns it might help at, I think the left hander at the bottom of the hill (turn 2 I think) would benefit since it's so off camber and you can fly down the hill if you want is certainly one that would benefit. The ones you mention of course. So maybe not all of the track benefits but maybe 50%? Any little bit helps, especially in the S2000 challenge.

Gotcha Strike. I just read that file on nsxfiles.com and you're right, I guess it does work. UGLY is right but damn who cares about looks when it helps in lap times!
