Campgrounds in CA
I'm sure there are a lot of outdoor/nature loving S2k owners here. Can you recommend any nice campgrounds in CA?
Now that my kid is old enough, my wife and I have been taking him out to camping. We've been to a few campgrounds in CA, but I'd like to hear about other places that I don't know about. Here are the ones that we've been to so far:
Casper Park
Malibu Creek SP
Joshua Tree National Forest
Pfeifer Big Sur
San Simeon Canyon
San Onafre State Beach
San Clemente State Beach
Yosemite
Point Mugu State Beach

I like to use this tool to plan longer trips.

I camped from here to Nebraska using it on the fly as I went (not in the S2k unfortunately).

Big Sir is one of the better ones, If you're heading up North, Patrick's Point and Big Lagoon in Humboldt are also awesome as well. San Clemente and San Onfre are on the bottom since they are way too close to the freeway, and looking at in inactive nuclear power plant isn't all too appealing. Also, Idyllwild is a great place to visit and camp (In-between Hemit and Palm Springs).

are you camping or Glamping
There are camping groups that meet monthly. Year ago 1970-1985 I went camp with the parent and a group
it was great. The group is still going. Mostly Class A camping and some Toy boxes now.

Haha I did this a couple of years ago... It's pretty nice camping, although the inner-tubing down the river can get pretty intense. It's fun, but if you do go for it, you should expect more than a few bumps and bruises

Been to joshua tree twice within the past 6 months. it's pretty clean but it's desert camping so there's not much other stuff around (rivers, forests, etc) i enjoyed my time there
