I wouldn't have accepted a payment plan but hopefully you had a written contract that both of you signed. Small claims court would be next course of action.

I just received a PM from another board member (not going to reference his name) stating:
"Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that Jay wanted to buy my xxx for xxx a few days ago. He told me that he was "highly interested" and wanted me to give him a call. If he has the money for my xxx setup, I'm sure he has the money to pay off his debt.
GL with the whole situation.
- xxx"

Small claims court would be the next course of action if I had a written sales agreement, but since I don't that is not an option. Also, just because you get a judgment against somebody doesn't mean that you will be able to collect the debt. Case in point: my son's mom owes me over 1 1/2 years worth of child support and although there is a judgment against her I haven't been able to collect a cent.
This is quite out of character from Jay, but I'm not a part of your transaction so I cannot comment. I just hope this has a positive out come, just as I'm sure you are looking for. Good luck Justin.

Yeah this sucks big time. I really never liked mixing business with friendship. When money is envolved, I don't F around. I am sure you trusted your judgement against Jay and don't blame you. Of course you had purchase history with him and was positive.
Overall, I would not gave up the goods w/o the full amount. That is just IMO. To much money to gamble with. I hope Jay does man up though.

I don't believe it will come to that. I've bought stuff from you and I've bought stuff from Jay. I had a good experience with both of you and I know Jay personally pretty well.

I just learned that Jay is going to Vegas in a couple of weeks. If you have money to go blow in Vegas then you certainly have money to repay a debt. Also, I found out that he got fired from a place called "Wawanesa". Interesting.

I have known Jay for quite some time and have dealt with him a couple of times. Never had a problem even though I live far from him. I'm pretty sure there is a legitimate reason for everything that is happening.
I feel for you 2QYK4U cuz I have been scammed before. Hope everythin gets resolved. GL!
