It would be specifically addressed in the manual for your cordless phone - if you give me the make/model of your phone I can probably lookup the manual online and find out for you.

if your telemarketers or phone jockeys or whoever it is that's calling you are consistently calling from the same numbers and only those numbers (which you know and recognize from your caller ID), get your phone service to put a block on those numbers so that you can't receive any calls from the numbers you specified, but be aware that most of these companies have call rooms with a multitude of individuals on different lines with different numbers, so it's possible that they'll just pass you on to someone else's desk... might not happen, but it is a possibility that you should be aware of in case they keep calling, but....
