yeah, the test pipe actually made my exhaust quiter and more ricey. Before the exhaust was deeper, now it sounds like johnny trans from the Fast and the Furious. Personally I dont feel any performance gains at all.

Again... its gonna depend on the car and tune..... Turbo cars GREATLY appreciate just about as much flow as possible so for me I'd always go TP.
For example on Turbo snowmobiles that i've ridden and Turbo Street bikes, the rule of thumb began less pipe = more and bigger pipe =more. So we'd run a 2.5" pipe and only run it 5 inches just to get the heat away from a part that couldn't handle the heat.
For an N/A motor of course these rules don't apply.
Just some random info. However....I'd never call straight pipes ricey, on the contrary...it's RACEY perhaps. Race cars don't always sound beautiful lol.

so, if our state referee department is removed, then isn't there nothing to worry about even if i do get caught?
i'm completely stock too so it's not like my exhaust would attract cops..

Cant drive faster... i smell it when i come to a stop w/ top down.. you probably dont smell urs cause of hardtop..
State Ref: So from what Ive gathered so far from people who have gotten tickets recently and talked to cops is that they are still giving out State Ref tickets. The program has not shut down, its just on hold. You will either have to wait till they figure out the future of the program or the judge will just fine you which Im sure you can fight. Either that or the worst case scenario is getting towed, which the cops have a right to do if you messed with your cat.

Yup, hardtop. Cause I can definitely smell my TP at a stop.
