Default CALIFORNIA residents!

I'm considering getting a Berk Technology or Invidia Test pipe and was wondering if any of you running it in Cali has had any problems with the police? I'm just running straight stock i/h/e so i don't think noise would be an issue in getting pulled over either..

Anyone know if it's just a fix-it ticket or a more serious fine if you get caught?

thanks!

Its a 1000 dollar ticket if you get caught I think. If the risk is worth a few more hp is up to you.

around 1000-1400$ ticket plus you have to get it tested after fixing and no traffic school for it.

or you could just have a friend weld the heat shield from your stock cat on, so it looks like a cat.

I have never heard of anyone in so cal getting caught by the police with a testpipe. They will send you to the ref but you just take it off before you go.

just get a high flow cat, i think berk did couple dyno test and it was only 1 hp diff.

thats why i got one, when i got pulled over, the CHP was trying very hard to look for mods on my car, but the berk header and berk high flow cat slipped away with the stock look...but my exhaust didn't...lol
DeadZero just had a Berk HFC break apart on him. I had a similar experience with my Berk testpipes on my 350z. They were good about replacing them though.

I run it... no problem. I got 2, I have an extra w/ the sheild welded to it in case you want to look legit I have an invidia that's actually on my car

F the police. I could care less.

HFC is not a testpipe nor does it give the same results from my experience. The most restrictive part of a exhaust BY FAR is the cat. By removing that your doing WAY more then larger size diameter pipes or a better bent pipe.

TESTPIPE FTW.

Getting caught with a test pipe = take test pipe off and pay 10 dollars. I've already had a modified exhaust ticket and it was a breeze. I didn't even take it off, a random cop just signed it off for me a few days later.

IDK about BERK tests.... perhaps their HFC are great... from the actual dyno sheets I have seen myself the results were much more then 1hp. I'm sure if you just put it on or take it off the 1hp might make sense but when your able to TUNE with the free flowing that could yield more results. Perhaps that is the difference I've seen idk. I'm not a tuner. I just know what I've seen is more like 5-10bhp and that's significant as far as I'm concerned when your talking about such an easy part to change.
