40k where youre at might be a decent amount to make, but in cali, thats basically getting by paycheck to paycheck. i barely make 50k a year and its tough...

the only thing i have going for myself are side investments that have been very profitable...

How come?

Oh, you better wait for my check to clear before you're gone!
Already have that on my mind man. I'll look out for it till I'm out.

There's some chance we'll be here longer but it's quickly dwindling.

This is somewhat true and false. It just depends on your lifestyle. There are many people that live on much less than 40k a year. It just depends on where and how you want to live.

This became funny when I read it again.

Imagine if something is VERY true AND FALSE.

Exactly. 40k is not a bad salary even in socal. If you eat out all the time ($15-20 meals) and spend on unnecessary items, it does not get you far and don't have any saving.

I am also having some investments to add on top of my salary. Any amount of salary is never enough for anyone. Some side income is always nice

More like 40k isn't bad as long as you don't have a mortgage payment or a significant amount of rent in SoCal.

oHhh.. i'm currently looking. i'll check the boeing website now. it'll probably be the same ish as my current company though.
That reference to Boeing in the beginning on this topic was from 2004.

Boeing is laying off a lot of people now, moving projects out of state. Probably not a good time to apply there
