I would argue that the range on that website includes all CPT salaries all across the U.S.. It would be interesting to know what the range is locally here in SoCal. I'm sure it's higher.

but anyway... what do i know...

everyone has to start somewhere

I couldn't find anything that would take cost of living into consideration etc either.

Best I could come up with in 10 seconds.

Living off $40k a year is cake! It's all about having no debt, outside of a mortgage payment, common utilities, and maybe a car payment.

Some of you guys just need to get the CC's paid off and once done, pay off the total monthly if you use it. Your credit rating will shine!

Before signing up for which ever direction in the medical field you are interested in going into, to go down to your local academic teaching hospital and find out if you can follow that individual for a day. You will soon see the daily grind of that professional.

Nursing is the way to go, but I heard the RN qualifications are getting harder, i.e. testing.

Anyone heard of that new hospital that is automated? That would probably eliminate a lot of the nursing staff.

Nurse, pharmacist, PA etc ok and good salary but more for those with no brain for medical school.

But i am thinking if getting into nurse school and pharamacy school too tough for you rhen you get destroyed by MCAT and rigors of medical school

But if I were to enter medical field and make it too old age i think my life incomplete if I not having MD behind my name but RN

^^^ My GF is doing her last 3yrs of fellowship in Peds. I agree about the brains part but I also think MDs are a special breed. It takes a little bit of insanity (and she will admit it) to go through that much school regardless of the money (and they don't make all that much either).

I don't consider being an RN or a PA as settling. It just depends where the priorities are in your life. MDs give up A LOT.
