The dealer who did the used car inspection told me the battery is basically dead. The CCA was tested and was too low. I asked the owner about it, and he admitted that he had to jumpstart the car to get it to the dealer (he had this car in storage for a while and didn't realize it had died). Since I'm gonna be taking this car on a long road trip immediately, I'd rather not be stranded, waiting for a jump.

Can anyone comment on a valve adjustment?

I think brake fluid is recommended to be changed every 3 years, plus I want to replace it with RBF600 for some track days that will come up soon.

As far as radiator fluid change, I may need to switch it because the car was originally in Oregon where temps get quite cold (it may have antifreeze instead of coolant?).

I will look into Aliso Viejo Auto and Mid Valley Automotive. Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh, and once I buy my S2000 for sure, I will definitely get my membership.

Way too low mileage for a valve adjustment.

why the hell would you change the battery?

The only things i would bother with are the engine oil, trans and diff change.. since they are actual LUBRICANTS.

2 things to add are the intake filter and the cabin filter.

All others really dont need to be changed unless you FEEL something is wrong with them, or its if you're coming close to the honda recommended service interval.

Especially with that low mileage...

My '01 has less miles and I have not done a valve adjustment. I do keep up with oil, trans, diff, and filters. The battery may be charged if it is not too far gone. I had to do this twice to my car because it sat too long.

First off, I didn't realize my old computer was logged into my account from 5+ years ago that I completely forgot about! I've since created a new account, and after I bought the S2000, I got my membership (on this account--can someone deactivate NammyBoy?).

I bought the S2000 in Oregon, and I drove it down on a weekend to Los Angeles. It was roughly 950 miles over two days, and even my S2000 grew a beard. On a side note, I averaged 32.47 miles per gallon on my trip down (all highway).

As soon as I drove it down, I changed the oil with Mobil1 10W30 and HAMP oil filter. I took your advice and ordered a new cabin filter. When I was swapping it out, I was amazed at how disgusting the old one was:

I ordered a K&N OEM replacement intake filter. I'm planning on using Honda's new MTF and Mobil1 75W90 for the differential. I also bought some Techron Fuel System Cleaner, which I will use when my current tank runs low. The car idles a little roughly (rougher than my 2000 Prelude with almost 100,000 miles), and if the fuel injector cleaner doesn't fix it, I may opt for a valve adjustment.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
