speedventures just updated the info on their next event - 11/15 at Buttonwillow again. this time in the clockwise configuration, with the back straight open. that means 120 mph + on the back straight!!!!

I've driven it CW and CCW with the back straight and it's faster CCW. Going CW on street tires I got to ~113 before braking for Riverside; I did 120+ before braking for Cotton Corners going CCW. I wasn't as experienced then, though; I'd guess that 118-120 is possible CW, and 125-128 CCW, again on street tires.
The R-compund guys will definitely be seeing 5th gear, though.

I hate you. :-)
See you at the 11/15 event with some more scrubbed in tires and a little more knowledge of the track (I've run the west loop clockwise before). Got to get to 2:20 or better before I go swaybar and bigger tires.

A belated thanks to John and his crew for the great day. In spite of the bogarted first yellow session, I still got plenty of .
And it was awesome to see the s2000 escort team on the way home, through the grapevine and all the way into my turnoff at the 5/405 split.
