L.A. is home to some of the best sushi restaurants in the U.S. However, it usually comes at a high price!

What L.A. restaurant would you recommend as having the best sushi value? And I do stress value meaning quality per dollar, not quantity per dollar!

Sorry Ginza Sushi-Ko!

I like Ichiban in Brea. Good sushi, not too expensive. But I don't frequent L.A. restaurants so I cannot make a fair comparison.

There's Crazy Fish in Beverly Hills, California Roll Factory (or something like that) in West LA, Sushi Roku in Santa Monica (serious party atmosphere)...I think you can't go wrong with sushi on the westside. Or you can venture up to sushi row in the Valley along Ventura Blvd.

For a more worthwhile but expensive choice, try Nobu in Malibu.

There is a place on Beverly just west of Sweetser which is just west of Fairfax. I do not know the name bit it is on the right hand side in a small shopping center. It is very very good and not to much $$$. I would be careful finding the cheapest place, bad fish does not hit the belly well, TRUST ME! I was in sick for 3 days

A hole in the wall in Gardena called Azuma. Fabulous food, and tons of it! The favorite lunch spot of my crew at work...

Here's a link http://www.sushi-online.com/cheflists.htm

I like this one. It's not cheap, but quality is good. I especially consider the sushi combo a good deal.

Geez, how could you guys not mention Todai!?!! There are several around LA. $20 for dinner all you can eat sushi, Sashimi, tempura, noodles, everything? The king of cheap sushi.

all you can eat buffets usually consist of "frozen" sushi. Its a good deal, but the quality just isnt there. Theres a hole in the wall place i go to in Riverside, Cabin Sushi, pretty damn good stuff. Other than that, Crazy Fish is really good as KT mentioned above.

If you're out in Ventura County, DO NOT EAT AT Masa Sushi in Camarillo. It used to be our very favorite sushi place - ate there at least weekly for about 8 years. The owner has really started drinking too much and the quality is going downhill. Two weeks ago, both my husband and I got a violent case of food poisoning that lasted nearly a week.

The good place(s) in Ventura County are Ozeki Sushi - there's one in Camarillo and one in Ventura.
