sears or ebay.

im a fan of craftsman for their relatively cheap price and in store returns. but you still pay retail prices, so look for sales like you just missed the labor day sale. or just find some used or new but cheap stuff on ebay. still eligible for in store warranty.

(wait 10 seconds for ppl to say how they know a friend/father/cousin who is a pro and only uses mac/snapon/matco)

some more discussion and detailed advice in here.

Sears Craftsman FTL!!!

My friend is a professional mechanic, and he only uses Snap-on!

j/k j/k!!!!

I use Craftsman! The 100% guarantee thing is pretty slick.
My buddy dropped his tape measure in a creek, and it rusted.
Sears gave him a new one!

how often you use it? i would say go for a good set of socket and go HF for odd items.

craftsman's warranty is lacking now a day, for a little more i'll go to snap on's, once you go snap on's you'll never go back
